COVID-19 Response & Safety measures

COVID-19 has forced all of us to make numerous changes in our daily lives.

One thing that has not changed is our office's commitment to your safety and our dedication to personalized dental care. Now, more than ever, we want you to be confident that our office is a safe and comfortable place to seek your dental care.

We have always been very stringent in our observance of universal precautions for infection control following the recommendations of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

One example is that the surface disinfectant we have been using for years is labeled to kill coronavirus in one minute.

In response to this novel coronavirus we have made an exhaustive search for best practices to perform dentistry and have implemented additional safety precautions. These measures have been shown to be effective in other health care settings.

Beginning June 15th the office will resume a full schedule.

We ask for your patience and understanding during this transitional time and will do our best to accommodate your scheduling needs as we institute these many new practices to ensure your safety.

INSTRUCTIONS for PATIENTS

Things are constantly evolving, but here are some of the changes you will notice:

  • Prior to your appointment, every patient will receive an email with attachments detailing certain items that must be completed and presented at your appointment.

  • Upon arrival for your appointment we ask that you remain in your car and call or text us to let us know you have arrived. Once we are ready for you to enter we will send a return text or call. You will be greeted at the door and ushered to your room.

  • Patients should enter office unaccompanied. For those who require assistance, we ask that this be limited to one family member or aide. Children may be accompanied by one parent.

  • Every person entering the office is required to wear a face covering and will be asked to sanitize their hands immediately upon entry. Please do not remove your face mask until instructed to do so. If you leave the operatory for any reason please re-don your mask and re-sanitize your hands. Proper hand washing techniques will be displayed at the office.

  • Please take your temperature the morning of your appointment. We will confirm no fever upon your arrival with a contactless thermometer. Obviously, if you are sick or have a fever greater than 100F do not come to the office. We will verify your temperature and review your medical history prior to treatment.

  • If you are over 65 or have medical conditions as identified by the CDC, please call our office to discuss your individual needs. Please tell us any and all medical history, the better informed we are the better we can take care of your needs

ADDITIONAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

For the additional safety of our patients and team members:

  • We have purchased and are using Medical Grade High Efficiency (HEPA) air purifiers with UV-C sanitizers, a highly preferable system to HEPA alone.

  • We have installed clear plastic safety partitions at the reception desk to minimize exposure to any possible airborne pathogens.

  • All common surfaces will be misted morning, noon and at closing daily with highly effective hydrochlorous acid misters.

  • Our doctor and staff will be wearing all of the recommended personal protective equipment (PPE).

We look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends. Thank you for your trust and loyalty and for being part of our dental family.

Yours truly,

Dr. Barbieri and Team
